| I wrote my first comic strip in the 7th grade. It was a blatant rip-off of Calvin & Hobbes, although I distinctly remember denying accusations of plagiarism from the other seventh graders who would read it in the school paper every week.
Misfits
Next came Misfits, the touching comic about a selfish fat bald man and his sarcastic cow. Okay, well maybe not so touching. Inspired by a mind-boggling lack of even remotely funny comic strips in the daily paper, Misfits is my attempt at filling the huge gap that Calvin & Hobbes and The Far Side left (The only funny strips ever written, in my opinion). At its backbone are two main themes. On one side there's this random, off-the-wall humor set in a world where anything is possible. On the other side, I try to incorporate my own everyday ideas and observations - which are also pretty off-the-wall, but in a stimulating way, hopefully. But don't worry, there's nothing too deep in here.
I first started Misfits in college. It's a project that's dear to my heart, even if I haven't been consistent in creating new material. But I know that some day, when inspiration hits, I will once again be committed to promoting my satirical slant on the world in the form of this bizarre excuse of a creative outlet I call Misfits. As with all comics, the art and humor evolved over time. They get better as you go along - so read them all!
Treasure Trooper
Finally, the Treasure Trooper comic is an adventure/comedy-themed strip with a continuing story line. I developed the strip for the TreasureTrooper.com website. It's featured in a bi-monthly newsletter sent out to it's 250,000+ members. I've made well over a hundred. The latest saga is featured here.
